CONSULTING

Consulting services provided by Saturn Ergonomics are designed to get results at the plant or corporate level. We merge tried and true ergonomic fundamentals with state of the art application technologies.

Training

Problem Solving Training provides your team the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to address ergonomic-related concerns in-house. Course content is organized around a proven, four-step ergonomics problem solving process:  1.) Find & Prioritize Problems, 2.) Evaluate & Develop Solutions, 3.) Justify & Implement, and 4.) Followup & Document. To get results applying ergonomics, tools and process must be practical and user-friendly. Training concludes with a hands-on practicum, where trainees apply what they learned in the classroom to real problems in the facility.

Ergonomic improvement initiatives get results by focusing efforts on the subset of jobs (or tasks) having the greatest impact on injuries & associated costs. This approach is called 80-20 Ergonomics™.

Analysis & Solution Development

Don't have the time, expertise, or bandwidth to address your ergonomic-related challenges? Or, need help tackling your more challenging problems? Then let Saturn Ergonomics take care of your ergonomic analysis/assessment needs. Our analysis service will diagnose the problem and develop a range of actionable solution recommendations. We provide three levels of analysis:  BASIC, ADVANCED, and PRO-LEVEL.

BASIC analysis utilizes tried and true ergonomic problem solving techniques to identify ergonomic risk factors and develop solution recommendations. BASIC analysis is often the right choice when there are many problems to address, and you need actionable solutions ... fast! Basic analysis includes

  • Onsite evaluation by a CPE, Certified Professional Ergonomist, (typically 1-2 hours onsite per job/task evaluated)

  • Report summarizing key ergonomic risk factors and providing a range of solution alternatives

  • Solution concept drawings (where necessary) to communicate solution recommendations

  • Basic cost-benefit analysis for select solution recommendations

ADVANCED analysis includes state of the art multi-task analysis with our Titan software. Multi-task analysis provides high "analysis resolution” enabling the development of targeted, effective solutions. ADVANCED analysis includes

  • Onsite evaluation by a CPE, Certified Professional Ergonomist (typically 4-6 hours onsite per job/task evaluated)

  • Analysis using one or more of Titan’s six analysis modules:  Hand & Wrist, Twist/Turn, Arm Force, Lift-Lower, Push-Pull, and Carry

  • Detailed report of analysis findings, with graphics communicating risk levels and task-level metrics

  • Targeted solutions recommendations designed to optimize risk reduction

  • Engineering type drawings (when necessary) to communicate novel solution ideas

  • Basic cost-benefit analysis of solution recommendations

PRO-LEVEL analysis is the highest level of analysis. This is when you need solutions to those highly important, complex, and difficult-to-solve problems. PRO-LEVEL analysis includes

  • Onsite evaluation by a CPE, Certified Professional Ergonomist (typically 8-12 hours onsite per job/task evaluated)

  • Capability to evaluate job rotation plans/paths

  • Ability to determine time exposure limits for individual jobs/stations, or rotating across multiple jobs/stations

  • Expected exposure reduction of proposed solutions

  • Simulate impact of changes to operational parameters (i.e., cycle time, shift duration, make/model mix, overtime, etc.)
